LPS has a tradition of academic excellence

LPS is the only Denver metro area school district to be Accredited with Distinction, the highest academic accreditation rating given by the Colorado Department of Education.  There are only 14 out of 178 school districts in Colorado that have been Accredited with Distinction!

LPS leads the rest of the country in 21st century learning. More than 10,000 computers, laptops, and netbooks are in use by students and staff in LPS, which represents an 82% increase from 2006.  LPS offers one-to-one computing learning environments in all 5th grades and in all language arts classes grades 6 through 10. LPS teachers are known internationally for their use of instructional technology.

About 90 percent of LPS graduates continue their education after high school.

The Class of 2011 was awarded more than $30 million in college scholarships.

LPS is ranked first in academic growth in Colorado.

About 18 percent of LPS students are enrolled from outside district boundaries and clearly see LPS as the preferred choice. This is the highest percentage of any school district along the Front Range of similar size or larger.

LPS high schools are frequently named in Newsweek Magazine’s “Top High Schools in America”.
