 Choosing Littleton Public Schools

From the Board of Education's Strategic Plan:

Goal #4
Promote, sustain, and create quality programs that make Littleton Public Schools the uniquely preferred choice for families inside and outside the District.

Why do parents, inside and outside of the district, want their children in Littleton Public Schools? What do they want and like the most?

Is This For Reals Open Discussion? Are we really interested in excellence?

We open enroll in LPS from Douglas County. For us, it was important to us that Littleton was not focused on building infrastructure, but was able to focus on programming. Coming from Douglas County, we found that LPS was more prepared to help keep our children learning and motivated than Douglas County seemed to be. Douglas County seems to be very good at getting everyone to average -- which is great if your child is below average and needs assistance to catch up. However, those children who are above average seem to be left to their own devices to stay motivated and progress while so many resources are spent to provide extra assistance elsewhere. Surprise! Everyone ends up close to average.
