 First broadcast Minimize

My first broadcast attempt was from the hotel room using the wired Internet access provided here.  So far, I have not found wireless Internet outside the hotel, but it's only been one day and the first half of that was at the International School of Beijing.  The second part of the day was at University for Chinese Medicine which did not have wireless Internet available.  I had hoped to get a broadcast there, but alas.

Unlike the test run in Littleton, the Ustream.tv broadcast was intermittently washed out by static.  I tried the broadcast twice with the same effect.  I've been told that there are times when the broadband speeds here in China can get very slow because of congestion at the Internet gateways for the country... perhaps this is contributing to the problem.

Skype seems to work very well.  I've already made several video calls and the video does get through with almost no lag time.

So, it is 2AM herre in Beijing which means hgh Noon in Littleton... with my jeg-lagged brain, I am awake and have time to get some video uploaded [;-)

Dan, Q and Bond - Good stories. I've read about the sleeping "rooms" in the airport. Reminds me of cans of tuna on the shelf for some reason. Looking forward to more pics, videos and words. Travel safe!

QSL. Understand and good luck on your attempts, but comm has to be secondary to the trip content itself. Have fun.

Glad you made it safe and sound and you got your luggage! It's soooo quiet in the office. Hope you find some good Internet connectivity.
Love the pictures, have a great time!

Dan - great video of the trip over. Looks like even with the long plane ride, the kids were ready to hit the ground running.
Say hi to my neighbors, the Betthausers, who are along for the trip.
Look forward to seeing more video and talking with you Thursday.

Were those scorpions that the students were eating? The street food can be quite interesting! Keep up with the pics, it almost feels like we are there with you.

Dan - I know you don't want to be a tour guide for us, but give us a little of what you are showing us in the video. Thanks.
