Have your own live video streaming channel on your web site. All you need is an online computer and web cam...

See also www.mebeam.com

Description:
Think of your own cable channel streamed over the web for free.  Then imagine you can record it for later playback.  This service also includes commenting features which you can activate or turn off during your broadcast.  Embed code is easily provided for you to paste into any web page.

Ideas for use:
Setup a web cam and a good microphone onto an online PC and you have an instant broadcast TV station.  Embed the streaming video feed into any web page and people can “tune-in” to your show over the web.  This tool has archive features too.  Imagine your next theatre performance streamed from your school home page!

Considerations:
Streaming video does use up some network bandwidth so if you are in LPS, you can use it... but elsewhere, you should check with your IT department.  Be sure you involve parents and get permission before using with students.  And train any students who do use it on Internet Safety to make sure they protect their identities.
