Description:
Another Google product, Picasa Web is a place where you can save your photos online for later access. There is a very convenient uploading tool and it will provide you with the embed code it takes to insert a nice slide show on your web page.
Ideas for use:
Upload your digital pictures and create a slide show that can easily be embedded into a web page. With comment features, this tool can help a teacher spark conversations like a blog but using digital images.
Considerations:
Picasa Web requires an email account and so you need to involve parents before asking students to set up accounts. Be thoughtful about pictures with children's faces that are clearly identifiable. If you post a picture of child, give just a first name on a school site, you've provided enough information for a predator. Either make your slide show private and only share with trusted people, or make sure you don't expose the identity information needed for someone to harm kids in your pictures.
