In this first video of my school visits with Briggs, we see how Field Elementary School is exploring the mimio interactive white board...

A mimio is a human interface device for your computer that makes a whiteboard interactive.  It connects to the computer and can utilize either a stylus or a dry-erase marker inserted into the pens.  Each pen emits an RF signal that the detector tracks to translate what you write on the on the whiteboard onto your computer.  You can use the tool with or without a projector.  In this video, we see how it works in a Kindergarten classroom.

One of the unique advantages of this tool is that the pen is the source of the signal, not the surface of the board.  This way, kids can press their hands to the board and not confuse the computer.  This device retails for around $745.
