In an effort to align our current system of supervision and evaluation for licensed personnel with Senate Bill 191 “Educator Effectiveness” signed into law in 2010, LPS is renewing and renaming our “1338 council.”
The “1338 council” is the advisory personnel performance evaluation council appointed by the Board to meet the statutory requirements found in § 22-9-107, C.R.S. This council, at a minimum, needs to consist of: one teacher, one administrator, one principal in the District, one parent with a child in the District, and one resident of the District who does not have a child in the District. This council is charged with consulting with the Board as to the fairness, effectiveness, credibility, and professional quality of the licensed personnel performance evaluation system and its processes and procedures. It is also to conduct a continuous evaluation of such evaluation system.
