Volunteers celebrate 10th anniversary in Tax Rebate Program
Date: Tuesday, October 02, 2012
Thank you, members of the Senior Citizen Tax Rebate Program!
The LPS Board of Education recently honored 12 individuals who are celebrating their 10th year in the Senior Citizens Tax Rebate Program. The program not only gives tax relief to senior citizens in the community who volunteer in LPS schools, it also enhances student learning by matching the talents of senior volunteers with the various needs in schools. The program is operating at capacity with 206 senior citizen volunteers. Last year, program members volunteered twice as many hours as needed to earn the maximum tax rebate.
