    3. Willingness of school to take a student teacher
  4. Requests for placement are sent to the Director of Human Resources and are forwarded then to the Director of Elementary Education and Director of Secondary Education who work with administrators at elementary, middle, and high schools. The following items are forwarded to the level directors:
    1. Memo requesting placement
    2. Copy of student transcript

  8. At the end of the school year, the Secretary to the Director of Human Resources forwards the name of student teacher, requesting college/university, and name of cooperating teacher(s) and school of placement to the Compensation Technician so that the cooperating teacher may receive education advancement credit.
  9. At the end of the school year, a report will be prepared for the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources by the Director of Human Resources that includes the number of total requests, the number of student teachers placed, and the number of requests denied.

Placements other than student teacher placements:

  • Internships (regular education) – placed directly by school principals.
  • Interns and Practicum Students for Special Education – placed by Coordinator of Special Services in conjunction with building principals. (The placement of interns is a requirement by college/university who wish to receive a degree and be licensed by CDE.)
  • Alternative Licensed Teachers – forward to Secretary to Director of Human Resources.
  • Counseling Interns – follow the same process as student teachers.
