Within 10 days after the official abstract of votes is received from the county clerk and recorder, the Board of Education shall meet in an organizational session for the purpose of swearing in successful candidates, electing officers, and making office and committee appointments for the following two years.

The incumbent president of the Board of Education shall preside until a successor is elected, whereupon the successor will assume the chair. Following the swearing in of the newly elected Board of Education member or members, the following officers, in order, shall be elected or appointed: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and assistant secretary.

The president and the vice president shall be determined in the following manner: members interested in either office may use the self-nomination process, including reason(s) for seeking the office. The officer shall be elected by secret ballot.

Member may use the self-nomination process, or be appointed for the offices of secretary, treasurer, assistant secretary, and voting shall be by roll call.

Should no nominee receive a majority vote of Board of Education members present and voting, the election shall be declared null and void, further nominations may be made, and a secret ballot taken.

Such other items of business shall be considered by the Board of Education as scheduled on the agenda.
