The Board of Education and its staff shall assist each new member-elect to understand the Board of Education’s functions, policies, and procedures. The following methods shall be employed:

       The member-elect shall be given selected material on the role of a school board member and responsibilities of the Board of Education.

       The incoming member shall be invited to meet with the Superintendent and other administrative personnel to discuss services they perform for the Board of Education.

       A copy of the Colorado School Laws shall be assigned to the new member, and all Board policies can be found on the District website.

Board of Education development and training, which begins with orientation, is a continuing process, and all Board of Education members are encouraged to participate in professional development activities.
