Policy Code CB Policy Name School Superintendent Adoption July 2, 1984 Revised |
The Superintendent is the Chief Executive Officer of the school system and has, under the direction of the Board of Education, general supervision of all the public schools and personnel of the school system. The Superintendent is responsible for management of the schools under the Board of Education’s policies, and is accountable to the Board of Education. The Board of Education shall rely on its Chief Executive Officer to provide professional administrative leadership.
The Superintendent, in his or her discretion, may delegate to other school personnel the exercise of any powers and the discharge of any duties imposed upon the Superintendent by these policies or by vote of the Board of Education. The delegation of power or duty, however, will not relieve the Superintendent of responsibility for the action taken under such delegation.
