Successful schools are characterized by a clear, well-defined mission, which is communicated by the principal to the school personnel and community. The principal is instrumental in establishing specific, clearly stated, and well-defined curricular goals and objectives, which are closely tied to the District goals, communicating these expectations and standards of performance to teachers, students, and parents. The effective principal is a careful planner and a successful manager, efficient in project planning and management. Success is achieved through leaders who act to support, to motivate, to stimulate, and to enable high performance.
