Policy Code    IKAB

Policy Name    Report Cards/Progress Reports

Adoption            January 5, 1993

Revised

The Board recognizes the school’s obligation to provide periodic reports of a student’s progress. The Board further recognizes that these reports are a vital form of communication between schools and parents/guardians. The Board also believes that all progress reports must be based upon available information, accurately and honestly reported with the proper maintenance of confidentiality.

A report depicting the student’s progress shall be issued periodically following an evaluation by appropriate teachers or other professional personnel.

In addition to the periodic reports, parents/guardians shall be notified when a student’s performance merits special attention.

Major changes in the reporting system at a building or level shall be preceded by a cooperative study and evaluation by teachers, principals, parents, and reviewed by the appropriate Division of Instruction administrator.
