Policy Code    EBC

Policy Name    Emergency Plans

Adoption            July 2, 1984

Revised

The Board of Education recognizes that advanced planning is essential to provide for safety of students, staff, and buildings, should a threat of emergency or disaster arise, whatever the cause. It is also recognized that it strengthens the morale of all concerned to know that preparedness plans exist and that students and staff have received training in carrying them out.

Therefore, the Superintendent, or designee, shall be responsible that plans are developed to meet state and local requirements for preparedness in case of fire, civil emergencies, tornadoes, bomb threats, accidents, and other disasters.

These plans and procedures will be maintained in the form of an Emergency Management Plan and Classroom Emergency Procedures Handbook, which shall be distributed and available for use in all buildings and departments.
