As a means to facilitate the educational opportunities of students who reside beyond a specified walking distance from schools throughout the District and reside within established District boundaries, the Board will provide a student transportation program.
The Transportation Department will abide by the appropriate local, state, and federal statutes.
The District may submit to the voters the question of whether to impose and collect a fee for the payment of excess transportation costs in accordance with state law. If the fee is approved, the revenues shall be deposited in the transportation fund. The District shall waive any transportation fee for any student eligible for reduced price or free lunches as determined by federal regulations.
