Policy Name    Free and Reduced Price Food

Free and reduced price meals will be provided to students from families qualifying according to the income eligibility guidelines listed in the Federal Register Notice. Applications for free and reduced price meals will be processed by the food services office. If an application for free and reduced meals is denied, parents or guardians may appeal this decision to the director of food services and a hearing will be conducted under the hearing procedure prescribed in Section 9 of the National School Lunch Act, as amended. Prior to the hearing, the student will receive free or reduced lunch. There shall be no overt identification nor discrimination against students eligible for free and reduced price meals, nor shall eligible students be required to work for their meals.
