Adult Lunches

The food services program will not be open to the general public. School employees and authorized visitors, including senior citizens, may participate in the food services program at adult prices. Regularly employed food services personnel may receive a lunch without charge.

Catering

The Food Services Department may prepare a food service beyond the regularly established lunch program at a charge covering all costs of the food service.

Use of Kitchen

Organizations or groups can make arrangements for kitchen use with the kitchen manager. The kitchen manager will subsequently contact the building principal for approval of the kitchen use plans. A use fee will be charged to help defray the cost of utilities, laundry, equipment upkeep, and kitchen cleaning. There will be differentiation of the fees for different types of groups in accordance with fee schedule for use of District facilities. The following organizations or groups will be charged a minimum fee: professional education associations, professional organizations of any district employee group, any community group organized for the purposes of a school function and serving in the interest of the District, polling locations for public elections, and community youth groups organized for purpose of education or community service. This exemption does not include church schools. All other groups or organizations will be divided into profit and nonprofit categories.

Payment of fees will be made to the kitchen manager at the time that arrangements are made for kitchen use. Kitchen use fees shall be deposited and recorded in the food services fund. School kitchens and kitchen equipment shall be used only when a food service employee is on duty in the kitchen. Employees on duty will be paid according to the prevailing salary schedule. Organizations or groups requesting the use of the kitchen will be charged for the salary and related benefits of the employee.

Rules and Regulations

All rules and regulations and policies of the District will be complied with by all groups or persons granted permission for use of food services facilities.

Storage of Food

Food and/or ingredients intended for personal use by employees will not be stored or processed in food services facilities. Food services facilities are not available for personal use by employees. If outside groups need to use the facilities, arrangements with the food services manager must be made in advance.
