Supervision of Lunchroom and Playground

Supervision of lunchrooms and playgrounds during the lunch period at the elementary and middle school level is required. The District will employ paraprofessionals, as possible, for the supervision of lunchrooms and playgrounds. Supervision of lunchrooms at the senior high school is the responsibility of teachers.

Lunch Periods and Planning Periods

All teachers will have a duty-free lunch period of not less than thirty consecutive minutes.

All elementary teachers shall have a minimum of 150 minutes planning time per week. Secondary teachers will have a minimum of one planning period daily. Administrators will make every effort not to assign other duties to teachers during this period.

Extra Class Activities

Certificated personnel involved directly in extra class activities for which there is a salary remuneration will, insofar as is reasonably possible, be notified by the principal of changes in assignments during the semester prior to that in which the change is to take place.

Vacancies in these assignments will be announced only after the person presently holding the assignment has been notified of the change in assignment.
