Persons employed in positions not requiring teacher or administrator licensure shall be known as classified staff employees.

Categories of Classified Staff Personnel

       Salaried Full-Time

       This is an established salaried position of 40 hours per week. The employee is eligible for leaves and insurance benefits.

       Salaried Part-Time

       The two categories of salaried part-time positions are:

               A salaried position of 20 to 40 hours per week. The employee is eligible for leaves and insurance benefits.

               A salaried position of 10 to 19.75 hours per week. The employee is eligible for leaves, but not eligible for insurance benefits.

       Hourly

       The three categories of hourly positions are:

               An hourly-paid position of 20 to 40 hours per week. The employee is eligible for leaves and insurance benefits.

               An hourly-paid position of 10 to 19.75 hours per week. The employee is eligible for leaves, but is not eligible for insurance benefits.

               An hourly-paid position of 1 to 9 hours per week. The employee is not eligible for leaves or insurance benefits.

       Temporary

       This is an hourly-paid position of up to 40 hours per week for an indeterminate number of working days and includes classified employees who have retired from the District, but who return to District employment on a temporary or special assignment. The employee is not eligible for leaves or insurance benefits. A classified employee working in a temporary position shall not be granted “regular” employment status.

       Substitute

       This is a person employed at an hourly rate for an indeterminate number of working days to perform the work of an absent employee and includes classified employees who have retired from the District under PERA but return to District employment on a substitute basis. The employee is not eligible for leaves or insurance benefits. A classified employee working in a substitute position shall not be granted “regular” employment status.
