Arapahoe Band Musicians Achieve Awards at Solo and Ensemble Music Festival

 

Centennial, Colorado—Arapahoe Band Musicians performed in the Annual CHSAA State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival at Monarch K-8 School on May 7. The following soloists and ensembles achieved superior ratings:

 

Soloists: Sean Case, Percussion; Tim Clarkson, Percussion; Tricia Cannava, Clarinet; Jessica Swift, Horn; Alex Steinberg, Percussion; Josh McKoy, Horn; Jenna James, Percussion; Stephanie Watts, Flute; David Steinberg, Percussion; and Amy Bickel, Percussion.

 

     Saxophone Duet: Alex Hill and Ben Link.

 

Symphonic Percussion Ensemble: Amy Bickel, Alex Steinberg, Jenna James, David Steinberg, Mike Wilson and Marielle Hendry.

 

      French Horn Quartet: Jessica Swift, Kevin Collins, Ellie Carley and Josh McKoy.

 

      Trumpet Trio: Colton Crandell, Elliott Hoefflin and Bobby Cassara.

 

      Woodwind Trio: Stephanie James, Jamie Stippich and Amy Rausch.

 

Wind Ensemble Percussion Ensemble: Jenny Breth, Tim Clarkson, Chris Gottlieb, Mike Wickwar, Sean Case, Marielle Hendry, Alex Steinberg and David Steinberg.

 

Brass Ensemble: Bobby Cassara, Katie Dwyer, Colton Crandell, Will Gamache, Rob Wojahn, Peter Mitchell, Josh Vella, Josh McKoy, Dustin Flaum, Jessica Swift, Jeff Henton, Josh Mackelburger, Geremiah Foyle, Patrick Kearns, Jake Kilbarger, Mark Gutman and Brian Leak.

 

Concert Percussion Ensemble: Katie Cassara, Mike Hargreaves, Matt Fons, Tyler Elliot, Lee Taylor, Harrison Lewis, Justin Rodrigues and Tyffanie Stogsdill.

     

The following AHS Band soloists and ensembles achieved excellent ratings at the festival:

 

Soloists: Ethan Turner, Piano; Matt Cullen, Piano; Elliott Hoefflin, Trumpet;  Todd Shaw, Trumpet; Amy Rausch, Clarinet; and Roxy Steinberg, Flute.

 

Clarinet Choir: Tricia Cannava, Amy Rausch, Stephanie James, Gabrielle Miller, Steve Berres, Mohammed Awad, Emily Morgan, Josh Garties, Emily Martin, Laura Liljegren, and Lise Strom.

 

Low Brass Ensemble: Emmanuel Verges, Jenny Smith, Brian Leak, Patrick Kearns, Dan Wood, Jeff Henton, Dave Ellis, Grant Weaver, Mark Gutman, and Josh McKoy.

 

Flute Choir: Sara Denman, Roxy Steinberg, Abbe Haller, Lyndsey Sotwick, Stephanie Watts, Lizzie Bolton, Kelly Edwards, and Emily Richey.

 

       Trumpet Duet: Todd Shaw and Steven Mumblo.

 

       Flute Duet: Stephanie Watts and Sara Denman.

 

       Flute Duet: Roxy Steinberg and Sara Denman.
