Arapahoe Jazz Groups Rated Superior

Centennial, Colorado—Arapahoe’s top jazz band, Jazz I, and The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs, were awarded unanimous superior ratings at the Metro State College Jazz Celebrations Festival on April 12, 2007. Arapahoe’s second jazz band, Jazz II, was awarded excellent ratings at the festival.

The following students were awarded outstanding musicianship certificates: Vince De La Torre (freshman trombonist), Kevin Matthews (freshman guitarist), Colton Crandell (senior cornet player), Steve Berres (senior tenor saxophonist), Sean Case (senior drummer), and Stephanie James (senior clarinetist).

Dr. Ed Cannava directs the jazz bands and combo at Arapahoe.
