July 16, 2004 Contact: Dr. Ed Cannava Arapahoe High School 303-347-6031 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Arapahoe Band Selected to Perform in the 2005 New York City St. Patrick’s Day ParadeLittleton, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band has been selected to represent Colorado in the 2005 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, to be televised on NBC. More than two million spectators are expected to line up and view the parade, and millions more will watch the event on T.V. The Arapahoe Band has also been invited to perform a concert in Carnegie Hall on March 20, 2005. This is part of Mid-America Productions’ Carnegie Hall Youth Debut Series. The 8-day trip will take place form March 14 through March 21, 2005. Additional trip activities will include: Hard Rock Café, a New York Philharmonic Orchestra Concert, the Empire State Building, a Marching Band performance on the World War II Aircraft Carrier, Intrepid; a walking tour of Ground Zero, Chinatown and Greenwich Village; NBC Studios Tour, ice skating at Rockefeller Center; performance at Lincoln Center Plaza; Lincoln Center Tour; the Broadway Musical, “Chicago”, Times Square, Dinner/Dance cruise around Manhattan; Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island; Stock Exchange; Little Italy; walking tour to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park and FAO Schwartz; and shopping at Macy’s.
