Arapahoe Jazz Groups Rated Superior

Littleton, Colorado – The Arapahoe Jazz I and Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs were awarded unanimous superior ratings at the Mile High Jazz Festival on February 22, 2002. Arapahoe’s Jazz II received an excellent rating at the festival. The following jazz musicians were awarded Outstanding Musicianship certificates: Grant Weaver, Dylan Whaley (3 awards), Ethan Turner, Alex Hill, Andrew Bateman, Andrea Steinberg, Matthew Larson, Matt Kenfield (2 awards), Scott Jacobs, Mike Wearden, Matt Hiner (2 awards), Ryan Moritz (2 awards), Shawn Funk, Mike Graziano, Laura Saunders (2 awards), Eric Mees, Russ Balli, Noel McAuliffe (2 awards), and George Gaither.

Dr. Ed Cannava directs the jazz bands and combo at Arapahoe.
