Arapahoe Winter Percussion Ensemble Wins Silver Medals at Rocky Mountain Championship

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Winter Percussion Ensemble placed 2^nd in the prestigious Concert World Class at the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association Championships at the Budweiser Events Center on April 7, 2007. The percussion ensemble scored 87.45 points. Fred Bowlus is the percussion instructor, and Doug Rosener was the composer of their music, entitled “Urial”. Arapahoe’s percussionists received silver medals for placing 2^nd at the championships.

Mike Wickwar and Michael Hargreaves are the percussion captains. Members of the Arapahoe Percussion Ensemble also include: Katie Cassara, David Culp, Marielle Hendry, Molly Phenix, Cameron Brown, Ben Nelson, Barry Tischler, Zach White, David Steinberg, Roxy Steinberg, Mike Wilson, and Mark Goetz.

Dr. Ed Cannava is the band director at Arapahoe.
