Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band Places Second in 5A

 

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, placed second at the September 30, 2005 Douglas County Marching Invitational. They were named the Second Place 5A Band and Fourth Place Overall Band out of 23 competing bands. Arapahoe also placed first in every music average, visual average, and general effect total caption. The Arapahoe Color Guard placed first, and the percussion section placed 2nd in 5A competition

 

Arapahoe’s 2006 field show is “A New Orleans Jazz Revival!” featuring “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?,” “Bourbon St. Parade,” “Basin St. Blues,” “Just a Closer Walk With Thee,” “West End Blues,” “Tiger Rag,” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Wind arrangements are by Scott Hickey; Percussion score by Doug Rosener; Visual Design is by Craig Harms and Kenny Bailey; Prop Design and Construction by Michael Steinberg, Alan Leak, Eric Urban, and Tom Haller; and Costuming by Susan James.

 

The Warrior Band’s section leaders include: Lyndsey Sotwick, Flute; Josh Garties, Clarinet; Jaime Liljegren, Alto Saxophone; Eddie Lyons, Tenor Saxophone; Dustin Flaum, Trumpet; Bryce Turner, Mellophone; Will Gamache, Low Brass; Mike Wickwar, Battery Percussion; Michael Hargreaves, Front Ensemble Percussion; and Rachel Greenberg, Color Guard.

 

The Warrior Band’s squad leaders include: Stephanie James and Emily Morgan, Clarinet; Jill Gonder, Alto Saxophone; Abbe Haller, Mellophone; Brian Leak and Alex James, Low Brass; and Leslie Johnson and Nichole Kamps, Color Guard.
