Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band Wins 2nd Place Award at 2005 Parade of Lights

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, was named the 2nd Place Lighting and Overall Presentation Band at the December 3rd Parade of Lights in Downtown Denver.

This year’s theme was a “2005 Holiday Arapa-HOE-DOWN”. Each band member wore a western outfit, with multiple lights on their uniform. The sousaphone players wore full costumed cattle outfits. The Color Guard dressed like western dance couples. The band director wore a multi-colored, sequence-lit bow tie.

During the drum cadence, the band performed 360-degree turns followed by “Ghostbusters” boogie-style march steps. Arapahoe won a cash prize for their second place award.

The Arapahoe Band is led by drum majors Emmanuel Verges and Katherine Cameron.
