Arapahoe Jazz Groups Rated Superior

Littleton, Colorado—The Arapahoe Jazz Ensemble I and The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs were awarded unanimous superior ratings at the Mile High Jazz Festival on February 19, 2004. Arapahoe’s Jazz II received an excellent rating at the festival. The following students received Outstanding Musicianship Award Certificates: Lindsey Newnes, Bari Sax; Colton Crandell, Trumpet; Dan Wood, Trombone; Tricia Cannava, Alto Sax/Clarinet; Ben Link, Tenor Sax; Elliott Hoefflin, Trumpet; Nathan Jekich, Trombone (2 awards); Tim Clarkson, Banjo & Drums (2 awards); Melissa Jones, Bass (2 awards); Andrew Bentley, Drums; Jake Dykes, Bari Sax; Ethan Turner, Tenor Sax; Chris Gottlieb, Drums; and Bobby Cassara, Trumpet.

Dr. Ed Cannava directs the jazz bands and combo at Arapahoe.
