March 7, 2005 Contact: Dr. Ed Cannava Arapahoe High School 303-347-6031 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Arapahoe High School Warrior Band to Perform in St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Carnegie Hall Next Week Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band has been selected to represent Colorado in the 2005 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, to be televised regionally on NBC. The Arapahoe Wind Symphony will also perform a feature concert in Carnegie Hall on March 19. This is the first time that a band has performed in the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade and in Carnegie Hall during the same week. More than two million spectators are expected to line up and view the parade, and millions more will watch the event on T.V. The Marching Band will also perform on the World War II Aircraft Carrier, Intrepid, on March 16. The Wind Symphony will perform a concert on Lincoln Center Plaza on Friday, March 18. The band will hold final rehearsals on Friday, March 11, from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 13, from 1:15 until 5:30 p.m. All rehearsals are open to the public and will be conducted in the Arapahoe High School Band Room and the West Parking Lot. The school is located at 2201 E. Dry Creek Road. The Warrior Band will depart for New York City on Monday, March 14, and will return on Monday, March 21.
