ARAPAHOE WARRIOR MARCHING BAND PLACES FIRST

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, placed first at the 2004 Pikes Peak March of Champions in Colorado Springs on October 19. The band scored a season high 80.8 points. A first place award was also achieved by the Color Guard, with a score of 88 points.

Arapahoe’s 2004 field show is “The Producers!” music from the Mel Brooks’ hit Broadway show. Wind arrangements are by Scott Hickey;  Percussion score by Doug Rosener; Visual Design is by Craig Harms; Prop Design and Construction by Dael Clarkson and Charlie Swift.

The Arapahoe Band is led by drum majors Ben Link and Rob Wojahn.

Arapahoe Band’s student section leaders include: Sara Denman, Flute; Lise Strom, Clarinet; Jake Dykes, Alto Sax; Alex Hill, Tenor Sax; Bobby Cassara, Trumpet; Jessica Swift, Mellowbrass; Tim Clarkson, Battery Percussion; Chris Gottlieb, Pit Percussion; Tricia Cannava, Color Guard; and Amy Rausch, Banner Carriers. Squad Leaders include: Stephanie Watts, Flute; Amberle Leak, Alto Sax; Katie Dwyer, Trumpet; Mark Gutman, Baritone; and Sonnett D’Agosta, Color Guard.
