Arapahoe Band Musicians Achieve Awards at Solo and Ensemble Music Festival

Centennial, Colorado—Arapahoe Band Musicians performed in the Annual CHSAA State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival at Monarch High School on May 6. The following soloists and ensembles achieved superior ratings:

Soloists: Amy Bickel, Percussion; Bobby Cassara, Trumpet; Colton Crandell, Cornet; Jenna James, Percussion; and Wes Leffingwell, Piano.

Percussion Duet: Sean Case and Mike Wickwar

Symphonic Band Percussion Ensemble: Amy Bickel, David Culp, Michael Hargreaves, Ben Nelson, Alex Steinberg, and Mike Wilson.

Wind Ensemble Percussion Ensemble: Amy Bickel, Sean Case, Katie Cassara, Marielle Hendry, Jenna James, Alex Steinberg, David Steinberg, Mike Wickwar, and Mike Wilson.

Concert Band Percussion Ensemble: Tyler Elliot, Lisa Hirano, Drew Kingery, Wes Leffingwell, Allison Nonko, and Justin Rodrigues.

The following AHS Band soloists and ensembles achieved excellent ratings:

Soloists: Stephanie James, clarinet; Matt Cullen, piano; Eddie Lyon, tenor sax; Emily Morgan, clarinet; Amy Rausch, clarinet; Roxy Steinberg, flute; Will Gamache, euphonium; Billy Norris, trombone; and Alex James, trombone.

Clarinet Choir: Carissa Pierce, Amy Rausch, Stephanie James, Gabrielle Miller, Steve Berres, Mohammed Awad, Emily Morgan, Josh Garties, Emily Martin, Laura Liljegren, Nichole Jensen, Alli Howald, and Joe Kosse.

Flute Choir: Sean Egan, Roxy Steinberg, Abbe Haller, Lyndsey Sotwick, Lizzie Bolton, Kelly Edwards, and Wes Leffingwell (piano).

Trumpet Trio: Colton Crandell, Bobby Cassara, and Dustin Flaum.

Flute Duet: Abbe Haller and Roxy Steinberg.

Flute Duet: Roxy Steinberg and Lyndsey Sotwick.

Saxophone Ensemble: Kevin Keables, Maureen Kosse, Alyssa Barton, David Tetley, Jill Gonder, Alex Foyle, Jaime Liljegren, Eddie Lyon, Matt Cullen, Nichole Fabrizio, Marshall Tugman, Jordan Flatt, and Chase Piker.

Brass Ensemble: Bobby Cassara, Jeff Henton, Scott Berres, Alex James, Will Gamache, Nathan Wait, Bryce Turner, Jordan Leak, Jake Kilbarger, Geremiah Foyle, Katherine Cameron, Steven Mumblo, Kevin Jones, Dustin Flaum, and Colton Crandell.

Clarinet Quartet: Stephanie James, Amy Rausch, Laura Liljegren, and Gabrielle Miller.
