Arapahoe Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Achieve Superior State Festival Ratings

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Wind Ensemble was awarded a superior rating with distinction (superior ratings from all 3 judges) from a national panel of adjudicators at the Colorado Bandmasters Association’s State Concert Band Festival. The Symphonic Band achieved an overall superior rating at the festival. This was the first time in school history that a second concert band achieved a superior rating at the state festival on a national scale. 18 out of 34 bands were selected to this year’s State Festival. Arapahoe was 1 of only 3 band programs that had 2 bands selected to state and the only program with just 1 director. The performance took place at Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts in Colorado Springs on April 25, 2005.
