Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band Places in State Finals

Centennial, Colorado—The Arapahoe High School Warrior Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Ed Cannava, placed 6^th in State Finals at Invesco Field at Mile High on October 23, 2004. This is the second time in school history that the Warrior Band has achieved Top 6 State Finals status.

The Warrior Band achieved the second place music general effect score during semifinals, and the percussion section was awarded the 4^th place score in the state during semis and finals. Arapahoe scored the 4^th place semi general effect score, and the 5^th place individual music score at semis and finals. The Warrior Band placed 5^th in general effect during the finals competition.

Arapahoe’s 2004 field show is “The Producers!” music from the Mel Brooks’ hit Broadway show. Wind arrangements are by Scott Hickey;  Percussion score by Doug Rosener; Visual Design is by Craig Harms; Prop Design and Construction by Dael Clarkson and Charlie Swift.

The Arapahoe Band is led by drum majors Ben Link and Rob Wojahn.

Arapahoe Band’s student section leaders include: Sara Denman, Flute; Lise Strom, Clarinet; Jake Dykes, Alto Sax; Alex Hill, Tenor Sax; Bobby Cassara, Trumpet; Jessica Swift, Mellowbrass; Tim Clarkson, Battery Percussion; Chris Gottlieb, Pit Percussion; Tricia Cannava, Color Guard; and Amy Rausch, Banner Carriers. Squad Leaders include: Stephanie Watts, Flute; Amberle Leak, Alto Sax; Katie Dwyer, Trumpet; Mark Gutman, Baritone; and Sonnett D’Agosta, Color Guard.
