to Perform at Sutton’s 7th Rocky Mountain Jazz Party Centennial,
Colorado—The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs from Arapahoe High School have been
invited to perform at the 7th Annual Sutton’s Rocky Mountain
Jazz Party on October 8, 2006. Arapahoe’s combo is the only youth band
performing at the 2006 festival. The 2006 Jazz Party takes place from
October 6 through 8, and is located at the Marriott City Center (1701
California). 23 professional artists will perform from all across the
country. The Dry Creek
Dixie Dawgs will perform on Sunday, October 8 starting at 11:00 a.m. Professional sets will continue through the
afternoon until 5:30 p.m. The Dixie Dawgs have performed in the Sacramento
Jazz Jubilee five times, and in 2003 and 2006, won the prestigious Downbeat
Outstanding Jazz Performance Award. Members of
the Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs include: Stephanie James (clarinet), Steve
Berres (tenor sax), Colton Crandell (trumpet), Dave Ellis (trombone),
Todd Shaw (banjo), Wes Leffingwell (piano), Jeff Henton (tuba), and
Sean Case (drums). Information
