At
first I thought the best way I'd learn would be visually, but I actually
learn better verbally. This means that I like to read, write, or listen to
learn. When I talk to others, I may use phrases that I have learned
recently. I may have to record or write down what I learn so I can remember
it for later purposes. I can also learn using acronyms, this means that if I
have to remember that negative times a positive equals a negative, then I
can say, N.T.P, then make up a saying, Negatively Timed Positively or
something along those lines. I can also learn by using rhyme or rhythm to
help me remember things that I did in a class, like if I learned all the
presidents names, I could say them all yes, but if I could I’d probably make
up a tune that says the presidents name and then a fact or so about them,
the best way would be to think of a song I like, and then make the
(remembering) tune and then record it just in case I forget it later on.
That is the best way that I can learn.
Another
way I learn is aurally, which means I like to work with sound and music. I
have a good sense of pitch and rhythm. I typically can’t sing, but I do play
a musical instrument, and I can identify the sounds of different
instruments. Certain music invokes strong emotions. I notice the music
playing in the background of movies, TV shows and other media. I often find
myself humming or tapping a song or jingle, or a theme or jingle pops into
my head without prompting.
Lastly,
I can learn logically, I like using my brain for logical and mathematical
reasoning. I can recognize patterns easily, as well as connections between
seemingly meaningless content. This also leads me to classify and group
information to help you learn or understand it. You work well with numbers
and I can perform complex calculations. I remember the basics of algebra,
and I can do moderately complex calculations in my head. I typically work
through problems and issues in a systematic way, and I like to create
procedures for future use. I am happy setting numerical targets and budgets,
and I track my progress towards these. I like creating agendas, itineraries,
and to-do lists, and I typically number and rank them before putting them
into action. Your scientific approach to thinking means I often support my
points with logical examples or statistics. I pick up logic flaws in other
peoples words, writing or actions, and I may point these out to people (not
always to everyone’s amusement).
I like working out strategies and using
simulation. I like games such as brainteasers, backgammon, and chess. I
like PC games that require strategy, such as Age of Mythology, Age of
Empires, and a few of
BLIZZARD’s
games, such as World of Warcraft®,
Starcraft®,
and so on.
