A smiling teacher and a student exchange a high five across a classroom table covered with worksheets. The teacher wears a green sweater and a beaded lanyard, while the student has long dark hair and a ponytail holder on her wrist. In the background are educational posters on math topics like fractions and estimating, along with colorful student artwork and a classroom phone.

At its regularly-scheduled meeting May 21, 2025, the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education approved the Littleton Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement, which outlines salary increases for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year. For the third year in a row, LPS was able to provide significant pay increases for all employees and significantly increase starting salaries for teachers and classified employees.

  • Licensed educators will receive on average a 4.2 percent salary increase. In addition, the beginning teacher salary is increasing from $56,789 to $58,038, putting LPS nearer the top of starting teacher salaries in the Denver metro area.

  • Classified employees will receive on average a 4.2 percent pay increase. Hourly pay will increase one dollar an hour across the classified pay schedule, which helps LPS stay competitive.

  • Increases were applied to the salary schedule for coaches and activity sponsors.

  • Administrators will receive on average a 4.0 percent salary increase.

  • The district was able to keep benefits cost increases for the district and employees to 6.5 percent from the previous year, which is lower than what some other districts across the metro are experiencing. Maintaining affordable benefits is an important part of staying competitive. Every LPS employee who works 20 hours a week or more is eligible to receive full benefits.

The Board holds as one of its highest priorities to “Advance a staff hiring and development model that makes LPS the best place for employees to learn, grow, and thrive.” Ensuring competitive wages and benefits for all employee groups is a huge part of this priority to help the district continue to recruit and retain the very best teachers, principals, and employees in all areas across the district.

The Board of Education is scheduled to approve the 2025–2026 school year budget at its June 12, 2025 regularly scheduled meeting.
