WORK BASED LEARNING
Thank you to all the EPIC Campus parents who have reached out to connect with us. We are grateful for your interest and assistance in developing new partnerships that will benefit EPIC Campus students as they mature into young professionals ready to launch their careers. It’s not too late to connect with us as we are always looking to expand our industry partnerships. If you want to connect with us, please email Beth Best (BBest@LPS.K12.co.us) or Will Kurtz (wkurtz@LPS.k12.co.us).
We are currently working with 150 students who have signed up for our internship program. Students are working on their resumes in preparation to apply for up to two internship opportunities. Here is a sample resume to use as well. Students can turn in their resumes (printed copy) in the box outside the WBL office located in the West building Health Sciences area on the second floor.
For seniors participating in the internship program, here are some important dates:

INSIDE EPIC CAMPUS
Future Educators had the privilege of a panel conversation with Melissa Cooper, Deputy Superintendent, Carla Burnell, Director of Learning Support Services, and Dr. Courtney Berry, Assistant Director of Learning and Teaching. Students talked with our guests about exceptional learning in LPS. What an EPIC experience for all.
Apprenticeship Prep students were out at Home Depot to find materials to build a door and frame!
Aerospace students work on growing their shop skills in precision measuring, drilling, and tapping holes. Other students programmed the HAAS Mill for precision drilling- accurate to 1/10,000 of an inch.
Another EPIC harvest on the farm! Students then got to share our bounty with one of our local food banks. The St. Andrew’s market serves over 70 families out of the East Community Center. Science lessons that extend into the community!
Future Educators observed at Field Elementary today. Future Educators conducted KEEN observations of the great teaching and learning at the elementary school level. So many teachers welcomed us into their classes and took time for conversation. Thanks for hosting us Mrs. Settle and Mrs. Garcia!
