We want to make you aware of a delay in federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
School meals–breakfast and lunch–will still be available for all LPS students.
According to the Colorado Department of Education and the Office of the Governor, families who receive SNAP will experience a delay in receiving their November benefits. You may find more information about your benefits on Colorado PEAK’s website.
If your family needs additional food support before SNAP benefits are available, local and statewide resources can help. Local food and additional resources are all available on the Community Resources for Families page of the district website.

How You Can Help:
Not every family is being impacted by the delay in SNAP benefits, and we know that the LPS community is caring and supportive. If your family is in a position to help, feedingcolorado.org can connect you with a food bank and volunteer opportunities near you that match your ability to give.
We know that consistent, reliable access to nutritious meals is essential to student learning, focus, and overall well-being. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school or our district office for support.
