Earlier this summer, 16 students from Arapahoe High School competed at the International Thespian Society’s Theatre Conference at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. They presented musical theatre, technical theatre, and acting pieces, and came away from the conference with top scores, college acceptances and scholarships, and memories to last a lifetime.

Aly Bruno, Ruby Danaceau, Sophia Hess, Kalia O'Connell, Ava Profitt, and Ruby Ulmer participated in the Thespian College auditions, receiving callbacks, acceptances, and scholarships from 20+ of the top theatre colleges in the country.

Ashton Ellis and Eleanor Reed received an Excellent rating in their Stage Management and Musical Theatre Solo events, respectively. Only the top five percent of theatre students in the country are awarded this honor.

In the duet acting event, Jackson Beeman with Ava Profitt, as well as Lucy Roby with Lexie Stinson, received a Superior rating. Only the top one percent of theatre students in the country are awarded this honor.

Katie Copp, Ruby Danaceau, Matteo DeNittis, Xander Galvin, and Moya Goodiel were Thespy Winners for the Group Acting Event. They received a perfect score from the judges and won their event for their performance of Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread by David Ives.

Students Represent LPS at ThesCon in December 2024

LPS Thespians did amazing at ThesCon, which was held at the Colorado Convention Center December 12–14! AHS brought 40 students and performed 37 different pieces, HHS brought 50 students, and LHS had 24 students attend performing in 16 pieces. Powell Middle School was the only LPS middle school to participate in ThesCon; they brought 46 students and performed 31 events. In addition to performing and presenting, attendees also took part in multiple workshops and sessions.

There were over 5,000 students at the conference from both Colorado and Utah.

Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread, performed by Ruby Danaceau, Katie Copp, Moya Goodiel, Matteo DeNittis, and Xander Galvin from Arapahoe was chosen as the State Champion group scene and performed to the full conference.

Oliver Roberts of Heritage High School was the winner of Best Animated Short Film!

Keen Schledorn-Mott from Littleton High School was awarded Winner Best Cinematography in the Short Film Category, and Victoria Chang was named a finalist for her musical theater solo.

Supposed To, performed by Powell's Decker Esquibel and Theo Aubin, was chosen as the State Champion for duet acting. Tesneem Ilawy, also from Powell, was named a State Champion for singing Burn as her musical theatre solo.
