More than 100 Latinos in Action students from Littleton Public Schools recently joined peers from across the Denver metro area for the annual regional Latinos in Action (LIA) Conference, held at the Auraria Campus on April 6.
Now in its third year of participation, LPS students took part in a day centered around this year’s theme: You Belong. The conference brought together students from multiple districts to celebrate leadership, identity, and the power of community.
Throughout the day, students heard from inspiring speakers, including actor Annie Gonzalez and José Enriquez, founder of LIA. They also attended breakout sessions led by local experts, covering topics such as mental health, college and career readiness, and personal growth.
LPS students showcased their talents beyond the classroom as well, participating in conference contests in writing, visual arts, and short film. Their creativity and dedication were on full display among a highly competitive field.
Experiences like the Latinos in Action Conference provide LPS students with meaningful opportunities to build confidence, explore future pathways, and connect with a broader community, all while reinforcing a powerful message: they belong.
