Two middle school students stand with the Board of Education during the Student Spotlight segment of a Board meeting in the LPS Boardroom.

The Student Spotlight segment of each Board meeting celebrates a student or a group of students who are living out the Portrait of an LPS Graduate, which highlights the life skills each LPS graduate should have. Tomorrow’s workers will succeed by constantly adapting to the changing world around them, and today’s students must begin by learning and developing life skills - where every student should be well-adjusted, thriving, and balanced.

Additionally, students will develop skills in:

  • Communication

  • Global and Cultural Awareness

  • Character and Critical Thinking

  • Problem Solving and Adaptability

  • Creativity and Risk Taking

  • Resiliency and Collaboration

  • Self Advocacy

  • All surrounding Rigorous and Relevant Academic Skills

In LPS, we strive to implement opportunities to grow these skills at every level of education, and we recognize students of all ages. At the May 28 Board of Education meeting, three recent eighth grade graduates from Littleton Preparatory Charter School were recognized.

Anais Briotet arrived at Littleton Prep in fifth grade and has been a cornerstone of the community ever since. She is the rare student who balances RIGOROUS ACADEMIC AMBITION with a deeply CREATIVE spirit. Whether she is tackling the challenge of expanded classes in math, English Language Arts, and science with a dedication to excellence or demonstrating leadership as a member of the school’s National Junior Honor Society chapter, Anais pursues everything with grace. She is both a remarkably creative visual artist and extraordinarily skilled musician, mastering the violin outside of school and bringing that talent and leadership to the school orchestra. Above all, Anais is known by her teachers and peers for her kindness and CHARACTER. She steps up to help anyone in need and has been an outstanding role model for younger students as a peer tutor in the study buddy enrichment class. At graduation, she received honor cords for academic excellence, conduct, student leadership, and arts and music. Anais will be attending Littleton High School in the fall.

Preston Weed grew up at Littleton Prep, beginning in the Pre-K program at age four. Over the past 10 years, he has distinguished himself as a scholar of high caliber and a CREATIVE force at Littleton Prep. By enrolling in expanded Science and English Language Arts, Preston consistently pushed the boundaries of his ACADEMIC POTENTIAL. As a gifted writer with a unique voice, he has earned his teachers' respect for his literary talent and dedication to his craft. Beyond his studies, Preston has served as a study buddy, providing invaluable mentorship and role modeling to younger students, showcasing outstanding CHARACTER. His well-rounded contributions to the school were recognized at graduation, where he was awarded honor cords for academic excellence, leadership, and arts and music. This fall, Preston will continue his journey at Littleton High School.

Soraya Finkbeiner joined Littleton Prep in fourth grade. In that time she has established herself as a student of exceptional resolve and ACADEMIC DISTINCTION, pursuing a rigorous schedule, excelling in expanded English Language Arts, Science, Math, and Spanish. As a member of the student council and the President of Littleton Prep’s National Junior Honor Society chapter, Soraya has been an influential force, guiding her peers with a natural confidence and a powerful sense of purpose. A true "joiner" who immerses herself fully in the school culture, Soraya balances her intellectual pursuits with a commanding presence in the classroom, as a student athlete and as a role model in the community. At graduation, she was recognized with honor cords for academic excellence, student leadership, and athletics. Soraya will bring her formidable talents and strong sense of self to Heritage High School this fall.
