The spirit of community was on full display last Thursday, September 17, as the LPS Foundation sponsored the second annual Senior Volunteer Program Tailgate Party before the Heritage High School football game, played at the LPS Stadium. The event was hosted by Melissa Lotz, LPS's Volunteer Program and Onboarding Coordinator, with a goal to bring generations together, building connections across the district and showing students that everyone is welcome in Littleton Public Schools with senior citizens cheering them on from the sidelines.

The event was a wonderful success, with 27 seniors in attendance and meaningful connections formed between volunteers, staff, and district leadership.

Volunteer Kathy Clark said, "The tailgate was very fun with great food and entertainment. The Heritage High School Cheer, Belles, Scarlet Regiment, and the bald eagle mascot made the tailgate a huge success. I feel very appreciated for volunteering with LPS!"
