Dear Littleton Public Schools Community,

Today is a meaningful and special day for the LPS family. With the passage of Ballot Issue 4A, our community has reinforced its legacy of commitment to the high standard of excellence that defines Littleton Public Schools. This decision not only has immediate impact, but also allows us to plan for a bright future. I want to express my deepest gratitude for your continued partnership.

Your support of the mill levy override directly addresses the financial gap our district is facing, largely due to shifting state funding formulas. Most importantly, this funding goes directly toward taking care of the people who make learning possible: our dedicated LPS teachers and staff.

We recognize that in today’s economic climate, this type of financial support from our community is generous. Your decision reflects a shared conviction that this is a worthy investment – one that preserves the high quality education already in our district and safeguards the opportunities we can provide to future generations of learners.

Because of this outcome, LPS will now be able to:

  • Unfreeze and adjust staff compensation: Lift the current wage freeze and implement a planned 2% average pay increase – helping us retain the outstanding educators we have in our schools and continue to attract top-tier talent in our competitive region.

  • Protect student learning time: Cancel the district furlough day previously scheduled for March 19 – keeping students in the classroom and paying teachers for their full time.

  • Maintain districtwide excellence: Preserve core academic programs, expanded post-secondary opportunities, and support services across our schools.

While this local funding supports the ongoing stabilization of our budget, the realities of declining enrollment and state funding uncertainties ensure that we will continue striving for optimal operational efficiencies. We remain committed to responsible and transparent financial stewardship, and we will continue to keep our community informed on future budget decisions.

Once again, thank you, LPS. Thank you for investing in our students, our staff, and the future of our community.

Sincerely,

Todd Lambert
Superintendent
