Graphic titled "Student Spotlight" featuring the Littleton Public Schools "Well-Adjusted, Thriving & Balanced" student wheel.

The Student Spotlight segment of each Board meeting celebrates a student or a group of students who are living out the Portrait of an LPS Graduate, which highlights the life skills each LPS graduate should have. Tomorrow’s workers will succeed by constantly adapting to the changing world around them, and today’s students must begin by learning and developing life skills - where every student should be well-adjusted, thriving, and balanced.

Additionally, students will develop skills in:

  • Communication

  • Global and Cultural Awareness

  • Character and Critical Thinking

  • Problem Solving and Adaptability

  • Creativity and Risk Taking

  • Resiliency and Collaboration

  • Self Advocacy

  • All surrounding Rigorous and Relevant Academic Skills

In LPS, we strive to implement opportunities to grow these skills at every level of education, and we recognize students of all ages.

At the regularly scheduled meeting on January 8, 2026, the Board of Education recognized students from Littleton Academy and Littleton High School.

Littleton High School
Earlier this fall, LHS was recognized as a National Special Olympics Unified Champion School. A Unified Champion School receiving national banner recognition is one that has demonstrated commitment to inclusion by meeting 10 national standards of excellence. These standards were developed by a national panel of leaders from the Special Olympics and the education community.

Our LHS students recognized at the Board meeting exemplify not only the Special Olympics national standards of excellence but also our district Portrait of an LPS Graduate traits.

Reese Reynolds is a dedicated athlete of the Unified community at Littleton High School. At Littleton, she is an officer of the Unified Club, participates in unified basketball, bowling, kickball, and track and field. She has competed in the State Cross Country Unified Race all four years of high school. Beyond LHS, Reese has been a part of the Special Olympics Youth Activation Committee at both the Regional and State level for two years. In addition to representing Littleton High School through the Youth Activation Committee, Reese also serves as a CHSAA Student Representative.

Addy Chandler is a valuable partner in the Unified Program at Littleton High School. She has been a member of the Unified Club since freshman year, and has participated in kickball and basketball. Addy was one of the first partners to join the Unified Cheer team. She plays an instrumental role in supporting the program through her involvement in several fundraising efforts, including basketball concessions. Outside of Unified, she is actively involved in LHS theater and choir.

Both Reese and Addy will be representing all of Colorado as members of our state delegation to the 2026 Youth Leadership Experience at the Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis! Only two students from each state are chosen for this event. These students exemplify the qualities of CHARACTER, COLLABORATION, and GLOBAL AWARENESS from our LPS Portrait of a Graduate, among many other skills. We are beyond proud that Reese and Addy will be representing Colorado and Littleton High School!
