Apply to College/University for Free on October 20–22!

College-bound seniors, mark your calendars! Colorado Free Application Days are Tuesday, October 20 through Thursday, October 22. During these three days, Colorado residents can apply to many Colorado colleges and universities without paying an application fee.

Students don’t have to wait until October 20 to get started. Now is a great time to work on applications, essays, and other materials so they’re ready to submit during the free application window.

Application requirements and fee-waiver instructions can vary by college/university, so students should review the instructions for each school they’re considering and reach out to their school counselor with questions.

We’re excited to announce that the EPIC Campus Work Based Learning Internship Job Board and Application has OPENED! With over 60 opportunities, there’s something for everyone AND new opportunities will be posted every day this week!

Participating seniors were emailed on Monday with all the details that included how to access the electronic job board through our internship management system called Vector. We will be accepting applications through Friday, October 23rd at midnight. No late applications will be accepted.

ALL questions should be directed through the EPIC Campus Work Based Learning Office. Students should NOT contact industry partners directly.

EPIC Teacher Cadets learned about culturally responsive classroom and multilingual learners (MLL) from LPS’ ELD (English Language Development Instructional Coach, Erin Wise. Students walked away with a wealth of strategies and perspectives - what’s good for MLL students is good for ALL students.

EPIC Campus presented at the National ACTE (Association of Career and Technical Education) Best Practices for CTE Administrators Conference held in Denver. We shared the EPIC work we are doing around creating an instructional playbook to provide clarity, consistency and coherence amongst our staff. It was a packed room learning about the benefits of having common shared language in order to grow ALL - students and instructors. Approximately 830 classified employees serve LPS students, families, schools, and our community every day. Their work is essential to everything we do.

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who keep our offices running, support students in our health clinics and classrooms, drive our buses, prepare and serve meals, staff our childcare programs, maintain our buildings and grounds, keep our learning spaces clean and comfortable, help keep our schools and facilities safe, clear snow before students and staff arrive, and provide essential support behind the scenes. 💙
